Did Iran shoot down a passenger airline?

On Jan 8, a Boeing 737-800 passenger aircraft belonging to Ukraine International Airlines had all 176 persons on board killed after it crashed few minutes after take-off.
Three days later, Iranian officials admitted to accidentally shooting down the passenger jet, claiming it was ‘human error’ that misled it’s military into firing missiles at the plane.
